So I’m preparing all the software needed for our new Director of Sales (announcement post to follow) and I compiled a list of FireFox plugins that I use every single day. I realized I should share this with everyone as these truly are incredible tools. Click on the name of each one to go to the FireFox Add Ons page to install.
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer:
If you use multiple computers you will LOVE this one. My favorite. Anytime you add any bookmark it’s automatically synched to all computers you’re using this extension with. The latest version they just released can optionally also synch all your saved user/passes.
We use SalesForce.com’s Mail Merge functionality to generate our Advertiser Contracts and Invoices. Problem is it’s an activeX component so it only works in Internet Explorer. We hate IE. So with this handy tool just click a button and you’re using IE’s engine from within FF. Once installed you have to right click somewhere up near you Home button and click customize. Scroll down and you’ll see the icon for IE Tab. drag/drop to wherever you want it on your toolbar in FF and you’re ready to rock. Click once you’re in IE. Click again your in Firefox!
Everyone has 3-4 sites they spend 90% of their time on. Now they’re within quick reach whenever you open a new tab. I set this up and then under Tools, Options, Main tab, Startup, on the when Firefox Starts drop-down I changed it to Show a Blank Page. Now whenever I open my browser I’ve got my most visited sites a click away.
WAY easier way to manage and get back to closed tabs. Sadly like IE Tab it doesn’t just appear up in your browser. You have to do the Customize / Drag / Drop thing to add the button.
Yes the Alexa ranking isn’t the absolute exact ranking number for a particular site, but this is a useful tool for comparing Site A’s traffic to Site B’s.
Mouse over your tabs and use your scroll wheel on the mouse to move in between them.
Let’s face it, not being able to close your browser b/c you’ve got a download running is lame. Fixed with this plugin!
Need to know the dimensions of that banner? Need to know how wide that site is? Install this and in the bottom-right corner of your browser there will be a button you click to enable this. Then just drag a square and it shows the dimensions.
